[U/C] 399 King William Street | ~52m | 16 Lvls | Mixed
[U/C] Re: SWP: 399 King William Street | 48m | 15lvls | Apartments
Can't say I'm overly sad to see the original proposal for this site die. Normally I'm fairly easy going but this was probably not going to be a nice addition to southern KWS - and with potentially the courts precinct further up the road and Vue also a potential it will still add wonderfully to the development of this area. Hopefully something in future comes along and we get a similar height proposal that's a bit more... um, friendly... to look at.

There is new fencing and what appears to be a site office at this address. There were also workers there handling reinforcing steel pieces.

No movement on this unusually shaped allotment other than it's for sale. The site offices are good news for the adjoining allotment which Forme Projex is developing their next installment to Gilbert Streetwilkiebarkid wrote:There is new fencing and what appears to be a site office at this address. So how was this proposal ever going to fit on the Gilbert / King William Street block if most of the Gilbert Street frontage is a different project?

Are both the blocks on Gilbert St being developed by Formex? Or only one?

Based on Adelaide City Council approvals, Forme has two projects approved on Gilvert St - the one currently under construction (6 storey apartment) and another which will be between that and their earlier work further west.
The 'L shaped' land facing both KWS and the beginning of Gilbert street at this stage will remain vacant and as far as I can tell has nothing to do with Forme other than the fact Forme appears to have leased it temporarily to use for construction related offices and equipment for the apartment complex they are building.

On the Tagara website, they are calling for tenders for a project at 399 King William Street. There is no indication however what this project entails. It makes me wonder considering there has not been a new application for this site, whether the original student apartment proposal is going ahead?

Tender process well under way and is basic student accommodation wondering if this might be a budgeting exercise though
