Argh, I hate this building. The first set of renders were shocking, too many blank walls. And the building itself looks too crammed into the site. Personally would have preferred them to buy the corner site and build a 70m tower over the two sites.

I've see the updated plans.Dvious wrote:Shuz, where did you find out about the changes? Have we got any new Renders on this one, the website still says 2011!

Nothing on site yet, so too early.[Shuz] wrote:Too early to call SWP just yet?
It will be interesting to see what they do with the existing caisson wall on site from the previous Failed hills development. I wonder if they'll use the existing boundary piles, depending on any exposure damage I guess.
Still, it'll be great to see this hole filled with what hopefully will be reflected upon as a real catalyst development for Adelaide. This could be the point that the market realises that the apartment market in Adelaide is willing to live in a tower that is an architectural statement, rather than a non de-script box.

Pikey, different tower mate. You're thinking of Vue on King William. This is for 115 King William. An office tower.

This is what happens when you read multiple threads over multiple tabs.... oops.[Shuz] wrote:Pikey wrote:Nothing on site yet, so too early.[Shuz] wrote:Too early to call SWP just yet?

Still would have preferred this one to occupy the corner site as well. There are so many run-down vacant sites in the city, why do developers insist on cramming towers in small sites as if there isn't enough vacant land.

You speak as if thin towers are common in Adelaide.Patrick_27 wrote:Still would have preferred this one to occupy the corner site as well. There are so many run-down vacant sites in the city, why do developers insist on cramming towers in small sites as if there isn't enough vacant land.

I hope i'm wrong, but I doubt there is enough demand for any new office developments to go ahead in the CBD in the short term. The few larger ones
that have been completed in the past couple of years have already created an oversupply. Good to see that a healthy number of residential towers
(by Adelaide standards) are progressing though.

Love the look of this building as you go along KWS (see renders). Really lifts the skyline through that 18 floor barrier that has existed so long - ever since the 1980's. I don't mind tall thin bldgs at all - again a variance to the standard blocks we have been getting. Glad to see (after 8 years) some action on this.

I know someone who lost their tender for this building a couple of weeks ago, i would assume it can't be too far off then, surely!
Keen for this and Vue, two 20+ towers going up together at once would be an unusual sight.
