Here's what I had in mind
I think it's pretty easy to follow.

It's going to piss a lot of people off, especially when they have to tear down the drive-in

If you put an underpass on GJR there, why do you think there's any need to do anything else?

Because it would have negligible impact on either capacity or journey times, and the multimillion dollar cost could be put to better use elsewhere.
