I guess I'm the only one whose noticed what appears to be a tram coming in near the roundabout at the bottom and a tram stop just before the terminal in that artists impression.

The tram stop depicted is in an almost useless location. Who wants to drag 60kg of luggage and baggage on a blistery cold or scorching hot Adelaide day? Poor planning. I would urge a re-think.

Of course that's just the portal for the underground portion of tramline taking you right to the check in area.

But seriously, at least they are thinking about it. Adelaide Airport people are at least thinking strategically, and more so than most these days. So, hats off!

It's not much further than the carpark, and there's a covered walkway depicted. But again it's only an artist's impression.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

I can't see a covered walkway between the tram stop and the end of the airport terminal building. As previously stated "not good enough"...what about when it is raining or extremely hot?
Modern airports seem to be all about maximum revenue raising from retail/shopping and car parks....oh and yes, planes depart and arrive as well.

Jesus Christ guys, its just a sketch design proposal, we have no idea what the airport expansion is going to look like, and it probably won't look anything like this by the end of it.
Instead of whinging about a tram stop from one photo the size of a 1998 computer screen, go grab a coffee and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

The point is dv that sitting back and taking what is served up always ends up with the public being shafted for cost and inferior final qualify of service. The tram extension being a case in point (which is ot here).
History shows that these things get worse in time, not better.
I believe that it is quite reasonable for those charging me money to be held to account.

Yep, took a closer look.....yes you are right, there appears to be a small covered walkway..... that doesn't make it all the way to the terminal building and it looks very narrow and open to the weather. I still am of the sentiment "not good enough".

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the carpark is set for an extension as well, as there's a second walkway connecting to the terminal..

Funny how they've used two 747's in the image..anyone remember the last time a 747 was used regularly out of Adelaide?

I agree with you, but if you see it from an Airports' perspective you'll know why? Rent and carparking fees. That covered walkway is an insult. Light rail or tram to an airport should take passengers and tourists as close as possible to Arrivals and Departures and all undercover. I would expect not to walk more than fifty metres! Adelaide Airport could be the envy of Australian airports. Yes, the angular building next to T1 (International Terminal) is the hotel.

Very smart move on their behalf. Stay at the hotel and do business in the Business Precinct.

Hangars on the southern side (opposite main runway) replace those that were on the northern side that will be part of the extended Domestic Terminal and Business Precinct,.
If you look closely, they're not quite drawn to scale. Also tells you the artist has no idea (or wasn't briefed properly) about A380s etc... Doesn't Singapore Airlines still fly one of their freighters here? A QANTAS charter Antarctic flight was the last that comes to mind, but I can't tell you who flew the last regular B747 passenger service out of Adelaide (Cathay Pacific or Malaysia Airlines I'm guessing).Funny how they've used two 747's in the image..anyone remember the last time a 747 was used regularly out of Adelaide?

Within the next twelve months we may see an Adelaide-China service.
The Australian and Chinese governments just signed a new air services agreement that will allow airlines from both countries to boost seats. It will also mean more airlines from China can fly here. At present there are four: Air China, China Southern, China Eastern and Sichuan Airlines, but others such as: Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and Xiamen Airlines could possibly start services.
Adelaide as a regional gateway has unlimited seats (open capacity). Although we don't currently have any links to China, this agreement and others made with China just recently in trade and tourism will hopefully encourage one of the major carriers, China Southern, China Eastern or Air China to start services from Guangzhou, Shanghai or Beijing. We can only hope.
