Walked past the site today and asbestos removal almost complete. Moving along a bit more quickly now.

Is Sturt St the next one up from Sth Tce? How far is this one from Vue? :mrgreen:
Very impressed with the resi dev't going on in the SW of the city. (when linked up to the 2 new multi level dev'ts on Sth Tce. as well).

Gilbert Street's between Sturt and South Terrace. So it's a street and a bit away from Vue.

Agree that the amount of residential going on and proposed at the moment is pretty great. I like the amount of density in this project in that it's multiple buildings. It will be especially awesome when this little "southern skyline" eventually meets up with the rest of the city. I actually think that our skyline will look pretty good (from the east and west at least) if we can build a few tallies along the King William spine to bridge the gap between those two skylines.

I remember going down that hill on Greenhill Road (between Glynburn and Hallett Road) when I was younger, and you could see the main skyline and quite a long way away from the rest of the skyline was just the lonely Optus building.I always used to wonder why it was out there all alone, but now it's surrounded by a bunch of high rises, and pretty soon it won't be the tallest building there, which is pretty cool to think.

Sturt street is two back from south terrace. There's three new buildings proposed for south
terrace - 11, 14 & 15 levels. Hopefully will see nightlife and more shops in the area - a new little
precinct.

Demo has commenced. They have started taking off the roof along the east side of Norman St. will try to get a picture tomorrow.

That road goes all the way up to Mount Lofty (via a turnoff). The next time you are in that neck of the woods and just aimlessly driving around, you should check it out. Go to the South Eastern Freeway and head up past the Heysen Tunnels until you reach the Crafers turn off. Left at that round about and then head all the way up past Mount Lofty. The only time you come to a cross road, take another left and you'll head down along the road that becomes Greenhill. The view is awesome and you get a good 4-5 different panoramic views. It's all really cool. I do agree that the nearby Credit Union and Quest buildings make this look a lot better than it did a while back. The Vue and New Mayfield should hopefully add to it, aswell. I really hope this one is built to the full 50m... (At least!) :P

That IS Greenhill Road, which goes all the way through Summertown, Uraidla and Carey Gully to Balhannah. The street address numbers get pretty high. :D

I thought it would've changed road name before there. To be fair, that intersection is the very start/end of Greenhill.

Just for stage 1 and 2 I'm pretty sure, as I think the current sales office is where stage 3 will eventually be.

A pile driver is on site boring piles next to the existing buildings that front onto Gilbert St (the town houses that are not part of the site).

In further news on this development, there has been some official correspondence to people who have purchased
an apartment in New Mayfield regarding amendments to the original plans. These include:

1. A 1.6 metre increase in height for stage 1 to allow for installation of a centralised energy plant.

2. An increase from 12 to 15 storeys for stage 2 to allow a luxury hotel chain to operate a 200 room, 4.5 star hotel in the
upper levels of the building.

3. An increase in height from 14 to 17 levels for stage 3 to accommodate additional apartments previously touted for
stage 2, this will result in a overall reduction in apartments from 428 to 384 (available for purchase i'm guessing they mean).

They have given time for adjoining property owners to formally raise any concerns before the plans are put before the DAC,
which they say should be complete by the end of April or early May.
