There's a petition on Change.org for Death to return him. Only Pratchett fans will truly understand how touching that is.Wayno wrote:Sir Terry Pratchett died yesterday. A terrible loss.

Re: Beer Garden
If anyone is feeling generous, one of my photos from Blinc is up on the Adelaide Festival / Bendigo Bank competition shortlist for the final week, and I'd love some votes
$500 + a festival membership is up for grabs for voters.
https://www.bendigobanksocial.com.au/BA ... ype=Branch
Edit: It's been suggested I add some more details about the shot. The image is the piece A-Synchron by László Zsolt Bordos, projected on to the Festival Theatre, shot from the Eastern side above Lyrics. Shot on iPhone, edited with VSCO Cam.
Oh, and you can vote multiple times - it's only restricted to once per day. So more chances to pump up my vote tally, and more chances for you guys to win something too.

Yet another Red Rooster has succumbed!
This time, here in Ingle Farm is where a new First Choice Liquor will take place.

That succumbed some time ago. The First Choice is well on it's way to being built. The Scooter Guy wrote:Yet another Red Rooster has succumbed!

A little surprised it didn't become a KFC.

Re: Beer Garden
From the 'Tiser reporting on an article in London's Sunday Times
Original article : http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/sty ... 533432.eceUK’s Sunday Times names Adelaide on list of best place in the world to live
ADELAIDE has made it to a UK newspaper’s list of best places to live overseas..
The list was part of a month-long series on the best places in the world to live, published by the News Corp-owned Sunday Times.
The overall winner of the series was the Spanish city Palma de Mallorca but Adelaide was named first on the list of best places to live overseas.
The City of Churches was described Adelaide as “one of Australia’s best-kept secrets”.
“Small and perfectly formed, Adelaide is one of Australia’s best-kept secrets, full of elegant tree-lined boulevards, homes with lacy verandas and beautiful parks and gardens,” the paper gushes.
“It has the prettiest cricket ground in the world - the locals are obsessed with the sport - and one of the starriest night skies”.
“The central food market will satisfy every culinary craving, while the vine-clad Barossa Valley is on the doorstep.
“It also has the lowest house prices of any Australian main state capital: an average of Aus$52000”.
Other cities on the list include Amsterdam, Florence, Austin, Barcelona, Hong Kong and San Francisco.

Took a photo, tweeted it to Jay Weatherill, and bang. The power of social media.
Great exposure for Adelaide - while the "#1 rating" was obviously because the list was in alphabetical order (I say 'obviously' - I didn't spot it, Jay didn't spot it, and whoever wrote the initial Tiser article didn't spot it - triple fail), it still means that Adelaide was the first city everyone saw before they kept flicking pages and returned to their Sunday morning fry-up.
Seriously though, it's great to see so many media outlets (around the world) singing Adelaide's praises. Very much doubt it would have happened 10 years ago.
At the very least, people are starting to recognise that Adelaide actually exists.

Re: Beer Garden
It would be remiss of me not to pass on an interesting rumour. As I heard it, there is a second Billy Gordon among the Queensland Labor members, with details due to emerge shortly. Supposedly, the public service is already gearing up for another election within the next few months. Queensland politics has always been excellent entertainment value.
Well, the second Billy Gordon has been exposed in Queensland. It's first time MP for Pumicstone, Rick Williams. He doesn't lodge tax returns, and got out of that one by declaring himself mentally ill. Not too ill to be elected to parliament, though. Now he's up for intimidation and harassment.
I realise that the only thing anyone is interested in here is more construction, any type, any time, any place, but I thought that a bit of news from the outside world might be welcome.
