Franklin Tower, 148m, Franklin St

New glass office tower at 148m tall located on Franklin St near Victoria Square. Tower would contain 36 levels of office space and an observation deck on the top floor providing views over the entire city. Its central location in Adelaide would allow for amazing views of the city, beach and Adelaide hills.
The tower would surpass the current tallest building in Adelaide the Westpac building which stands at 132m, breaking the curse of the unchanged skyline of Adelaide since the 1980's.

Yeah, a fair effort (except it looks more like 170m in the first picture and 160m in the second picture). What's on the site of this vision building?

To me, this probably shows that one glassy new tower isn't the whole solution to making our skyline look better, although I wouldn't be opposed to one if it could be built. In the second picture (admittedly from about 2004) it looks like we have an 80s skyline with one new tower sticking out, not particularly attractive. Isn't Oklahoma City a little bit like this?

More 60-100m buildings to densify the CBD and hide the 70s/80s mistakes like the Telstra Exchange and the Hilton will do a better job of improving the skyline before building upwards. With the recent constructions (such as those around Franklin Street and Hindmarsh Square), plus what's currently UC and in the pipeline, it's becoming more and more obvious that Adelaide's coming out of the 1980s in terms of skyline.

That said, a new tallest would do a lot to break the stigma attached to Adelaide as a place where nothing changes (that mobus guy from Melbourne on SSC for example likes to pay out our skyline but likes our city's street level). We all know of the changes that have occurred at street level in the past five years, so it would be great to show eastern staters that our skyline has also improved, removing one of the most noticeable relics of Adelaide as a "big, boring country town".

thanks for the feed back, but my main reasoning behind posting this was just to quickly show everyone how the addition of just one tower could completely change the way people see Adelaide and would help us break free from all the negativity towards our city.
