Further to that, GG's sales actually did very well from KK's arrival. But this store being so close, I think GG's best advantage is that it's in a food-court.Patrick_27 wrote:Glad to read there are people in support of Gourmet Glaze, my sister and her former partner own the business. KK originally attempted to buy GG out two years after they opened, from my understand the offer was very threatening - then KK went up shit creek. They've remained pretty calm about KK's arrival in Adelaide but don't know how this one will go down. All I can say is that Peregrine are scum, for a company who praise Adelaide and talk about wanting to give back to this city, all their presence has done is destroy local business in all forms.

Peregrine are indeed a scum company. It wouldn't surprise me if they chose this location over cheaper options just due to the proximity to GG
Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
GG will be fine. Their donuts are much nicer.
On the plus side for the city, it will add a bit of extra life to Grenfell Street at night.

Salad Choice on Grenfell St is now covered with hoardings.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
After many years, G'Day Gifts on King William St will close at the end of this month.
So in just a few years time, King William St will be nothing but a strip of vacant/boarded up shops with awnings covered in bird droppings & tumbleweeds blowing around unless those landlords get their act together somehow.
It's just like Jay Weatherill playing Sim City without reading the manual!

I'm sorry, but a tacky souvenir store on one of our premier boulevards is closing? Permit me to not be sad about it in the slightest. I'm sure I can buy a postcard of the tram printed in 1996 somewhere else. The Scooter Guy wrote:After many years, G'Day Gifts on King William St will close at the end of this month.

Subway at City Cross has downsized for some odd reason!

No, didn't close. The Subway has reopened, but a new (small) space has been created directly opposite the KFC.
Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Apparently H&M are going to announce something to the public this week? Anyone got any clues, or better yet any details?
