I would have picked H&M to go into a space as big or even bigger than Apple - with the same length of storefront. I can't think of anywhere in the mall that can offer that. Supre is small.

it's actually quite wide I don't know exact dimensions though to compare. They have recently removed the roof and are building a second level.

Granted, it's not got any street frontage but how big's the old Harris Scarfe area in the Rundle Mall Plaza building? I never went in there...

Hold up... Where was this announcement made? I can't find anything. What's to say it's not an H&M Perth store?

Has anyone considered that the old Supre store may become something like Super Glue, or maybe even a new Zara store? I hear David Jones are planning to expand by ten stores nationally (with smaller 'village style' stores their aim). Perhaps they're sighting Burnside Village and as a result Zara are looking for somewhere better suited to their market?

And in a further ominous warning to its rivals, H&M, which operates in 53 markets worldwide, confirmed it would quickly open another four stores in Australia this year to build on the massive success of its brand in the region and scoop up even more sales dollars from local shoppers who were hooked on its affordable, fast-fashion bent.

H&M has signed leases to open two stores in Brisbane — one in the CBD and another just outside the city — a second store in Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall and will break into Western Australia with a store in Perth’s Lakeside Joondalup centre.

I'm betting it will be Uniqlo that will be opening up in the old Supre building. There was an article in some paper over the weekend that they are planning a massive expansion all across Australia over the next 2 years. Id prefer it to be H&M though. Didn't think much of Uniqlo

I'd much prefer a Uniqlo, but I'd be surprised if it was them. They've been talking about the big expansion for a couple of years.

Walked past this morning, and now the entire facade has been torn down. All that's left of the building is the brick walls and the a bit of framework and corrugated iron for the roof. So whoever is going in there, is giving it quite the transformation.

Hate to rain on the parade, but I think it's just going to an upgraded Supre store. Their current store a couple of doors down has 'pop up' banners all over the frontage.

I hope I'm wrong though!

I think it's safe to say this won't be the case. The building was placed up for Lease when Supre left, though; Supre's current location and fit-out suggests they won't be there for long. But I'm almost 100% sure they won't be moving back in. Not to mention, the site, with an additional floor will mean a MASSIVE floor-plan for a brand that doesn't have that wider range.

What I don't understand, is why they're gutting a building that could just have easily been demolished and rebuilt.

Surprised no one has mentioned this. But Krispy Kreme have opened up shop on the corner of James Place and Grenfell Street.
