Sorry there's also the hotel at the casino, so potentially 6 new hotels.

Hope it's something like the Aloft Bangkok. Funky design...Brando wrote:Correct, this is a part of the Starwood Hotels group and will operate as an 'aloft' hotel. Perfect for the area as they're a real modern and funky design.
Due to open Oct 2017.
Check out aloft Bangkok or the design for the Pitt St due to open next year.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Would like to upload a picture (scanned from a book) of a building that was once on this site, but not sure how to. Can anyone help?

Scan the picture, get an account on imgur or some other photo sharing service like that, upload it to that site and then look for the link to share the photo on forums and copy that link. Then just paste that link on a post here and click preview to make sure it looks decent. You might need to resize the photo if it's too big. Monotonehell made a thread on it stickied at the top which is fairly helpful that you can consult.

Also in addition to scanning, if you don't have a scanner, you can use your phone(I'm guessing you have a smartphone) to take a photo of it.Honey of a City wrote:Would like to upload a picture (scanned from a book) of a building that was once on this site, but not sure how to. Can anyone help?
If you have your email setup on your phone, you can send it to your self, and then open the email on a computer, save the picture, and then upload it to imgur, or even try postimage.org which is a free service and doesn't require any accounts to be created.
Alternatively if you don't have email on your phone, you can plug your phone into your computer via usb, go to my computer and your phone should be listed there.
You will probably have to unlock your phone(like you normally would to use it) before anything shows up.
Then it's a matter of finding the image in the right folder, but generally it will be in an obvious folder named camera or pictures or DCIM.
If you have a microSD card inserted into your phone, it could also be in there so be sure to check it.
Hopefully that's easy to understand.

Aloft Adelaide: New city hotel to be built in New Mayfield Project

•New hotel 1: The Sofitel on Currie St
•New hotel 2: Holiday Inn Express on Hindley St
•New hotel 3: The Lester on West Tce
•Analysis: Can Adelaide sustain this hotel building boom?
YET another new hotel is planned for the CBD.
Aloft Adelaide includes 200 rooms, an indoor glass-bottom pool, a running track and 24-hour fitness centre.
Aloft Adelaide will be part of the New Mayfield Project on Sturt St.
It comes after recent announcements of several other hotels planned for the CBD including the Sofitel on Currie St, the Holiday Inn Express on Hindley St and the 16-storey Lester Hotel on West Tce.
Tourism Minister Leon Bignell said the project is expected to be completed in 2019.
“As well as the guestrooms, Aloft Adelaide will be 500 square metres of meeting and entertainment space, catering for large businesses and private functions, along with a rooftop bar and lounge overlooking the city,” he said.
“The lobby bar will feature up-and-coming music acts as part of Live at Aloft Hotels.
“Another feature of the hotel will be keyless check-in, enabling guests to unlock their hotel room or apartment with a simple tap of their smartphone.”
Mr Bignell said Aloft Adelaide was another example of the city’s growing demand for hotels.
“There have been four high-end hotels built in the CBD since 2013 — Ibis Adelaide, Mayfair Hotel, Quest King William South and Quest on Franklin and another three hotel developments in Adelaide have been announced already this year,” he said.
The New Mayfield Project could create up to 1200 jobs during construction and 130 after completion.
Aloft Adelaide is being designed by the Woods Bagot architecture firm and local landscape architects Oxigen.
The hotel will be managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

Interesting.. Tiser article says opening in 2019, Aus Business Traveller article says 'early 2018'.
I know which one we should probably be relying on

I think the difference is because the Advertiser is referring to the completion of the whole project (stage 3) whileSmithy85 wrote:Interesting.. Tiser article says opening in 2019, Aus Business Traveller article says 'early 2018'.

Aus Business Traveller is talking about the completion of the hotel (stage 2).
