There's kids these days that actually want to work for News Corp?

I read a journo at the SMH call Abbott a dictator in an article.
Sure some recent decisions have been controversial, but he is far from a dictator.
What was even more scary, is the comments who seriously agreed with him.
So don't fear the future, it is lost already in a world of offended wowsers trying to one up each other with clickbait

That was so cringe worthy and highly embarrassing. Waewick it's disrespectful to the people that have travelled all the way to our city from Liverpool.... hardy a nice first impression.
I like Cold Chisel but comparing them to the legendary Beatles is just laughable.
Adelaide does it self no favours for it's reputation when its main media outlet produces that type of garbage.
I'd suggest your offence is more of a concern than that article.
Top ten reasons why Crawf is better than Waewick...
How is that not offensive on some level? You don't talk yourself up by talking someone else down. Not done ol'chap. Dashed rude, what.

Its satire ffs.
Getting offended by that article is way more pathetic than the article itself.
Whats more pathetic is getting offended becuase someone else might get offended.

Would it not offend you to read an alternate piece in the Liverpool news if you were over there watching LFC play Adelaide United in Liverpool?
cheers,

No. I think I've been upset about 1 anti adelaide article in my life and they was more the timing than the content.
I'm a big believer in free speech, unfortunately not something that sits well in modern society

Fair enough. I think the main concern is that LFC are guests here, it is a huge thing for Adelaide to get to host this match, and to bag our guests in public just doesn't sit well, satire or not. Why shouldn't they say "Bugger you, we're not coming back, we don't appreciate the way you treat us". It would be our loss.
cheers,
Rhino

As guests, they should be treated as guests.
An article comparing the differences and similarties between the two cities, sure. I haven't read the article in question, but judging by the reactions I'm probably not missing much.
Put it another way...would a similar article, with India in place of Liverpool, have appeared or been approved by the editor for publication, during the Cricket World cup?
Of course not. Because insulting non-white people is not politically correct. Whites insulting whites, anyone non white insulting whites..just fine. Whites insulting anyone but a white, nah, everyone even dumb ass lefty whites, are up in arms protesting.
The worlds gone mad.

Then there's Haese's Law. The one about the number of business connections a Lord Mayor has being inversely proportional to how useful he (or she) may be...

People need to lighten up and take a chill pill.
No surprise our unemployment rate went up just as we welcome Liverpool to town! Lol you'll never work again?
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

Out of curiosity, I'm interested to read the response from the Liverpool Echo;)

I'm not offended, just embarrassed. It wasn't even remotely funny.
Out of curiosity, I'm interested to see if Brisbane's Courier Mail does the same. My guess, probably not.
