You’ve taken my comment out of context. Yes this development is more important and in no ways am I against the city park closing in that location. It’s prime real estate!
Though you can’t simply close a popular recreation attraction and not have a replacement planned. All it’s going to do is drive those kids to skate in around public infrastructure, causing damage to property (costing taxpayers) and potentially putting pedestrians at risk from injury. It could also drive some individuals into petty crime due to boredom.
The fact that this park closed in what March, and since then people have been jumping the fence to use the park just shows there is demand for a city park. The city already lacks attractions and activities for teenagers to do, it needs more not less. (Going off topic)

I agree Crawf. Disappointing that a replacement park has not been planned. For those under 18
that cannot go to bars and nightclubs - there needs to be places for them to go.

Street skaters are street skaters.... It won't matter how many parks you build, you will always get skaters that find railings, steps and benches more appealing then any custom built skate park.
In my day you were either street or vert and the fact Fulham was the only skate park available, we would have to travel by bus for ages to get there from the northern suburbs. Skaters these days are spoilt for choice.

Just thinking about things, it would be the only skate park
in a cbd in Australia I think. Sad to see it go. I wonder if a
petition could be organised and submitted to the council.

I only mentioned it in relation to the seemingly slow progress of the actual building.

Coreboxes now up to Level 1.
Work sure is progressing slowly on this one. You'd think they could pick up the pace?

Looks like the 'hammerhead' crane is getting a height increase today.

Goddamn, this building is moving so slooooooow. Considering how quickly Vue is moving (I recognise the difference in buildings), you'd think this one would move with a little more pace.
