No, no, No. You've got them all wrong Phenom. The Advertiser will report on this in two months and say that they exclusively found out about it first. Which they no doubt found out about it from this forum.phenom wrote:Wayno, based on the Advertiser's track record they won't report on it for another few months, at which time they will:Wayno wrote:Is that perhaps a rooftop bar or restaurant on T2? looks to be a lot of greenery up there.
Also no mention of this yet in the Advertiser...
(1) run a scare story on 'skyscrapers in heritage zones';
(2) follow up with a story on how the city is changing (with a ra-ra pro-development attitude) but get the key facts (height, construction timing, sales) completely wrong; and
(c) probably use either an old render or use a completely unrelated one and give it the wrong label

Brilliant proposal. In terms of design, this is a standard that Adelaide doesn't often see.

Agree with all, very sleek design. I've always liked the work of these guys and it seems like the market does too. They've been building progressively larger and taller with each new site which I guess is a sign of their growing confidence based on their success to-date. I hope they're similarly successful with these.

More details from our news.com.au friends:
Pool on a sky bridge in $45 million Flinders St development
RESIDENTS of a $45 million apartment and hotel development will be able to swim between buildings in a pool running along a bridge connecting two towers.
A five-star rooftop restaurant with a large, central tree, 9m-tall windows and 360 degree views will crown the taller of the buildings proposed for the eastern end of Flinders St.
The Development Assessment Commission will tomorrow scrutinise the proposal from Guava Lime, the development arm of Loucas Zahos Architects.
A 23-storey building would have 86 apartments, while its taller 25-storey neighbour on the Tucker St corner would contain 34 apartments and 64 hotel rooms, most likely on a serviced apartment model.
The buildings would be separated by a large central plaza spanned by a pedestrian bridge with a lap pool running most of its length.
The bridge would lead to a communal pool deck with spa and sauna in the smaller tower.
Other design features include communal balcony areas, rooftop gardens, extensive “green walls”, cafes and a gym.
Guava Lime director Michael Loucas said the plaza would also serve residents of the firm’s neighbouring, completed Art Apartments and Zen and Zen 2 developments.
Mr Loucas said the project, known as 260 Flinders Place, would be their seventh and eighth buildings in Flinders St and represent the “culmination” of 15 years’ work in the precinct.
“We’re developing 50 per cent of the site and leaving the rest open,” he said.
“It’s the space that’s not being built on that will create the personality of what is.”
Mr Loucas said the high-class rooftop restaurant would be a drawcard.
“That will have 360 views around Adelaide. We’re hoping to engage a good quality chef to come on board and headline that establishment.”
Marketing will begin as soon as plans are approved, with about 75 per cent of apartments needing to sell before construction can begin on the smaller, all-residential tower. A hotel operator must also be found for the serviced apartments.
Mr Loucas aimed for the whole project to be completed in two years.
Apartment pricing is yet to be finalised but will be similar to Guava Lime’s previous projects.
“We’ve kept pricing as accessible as possible and that’s partly the reason for the success of our other projects which are completely sold and settled,” he said.
“We think Adelaide is still very ready for more inner city residents. We are very confident the surge of residents in the city is not (slowing).”
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Sure enough, released by Tim Williams and listed as a subscriber only article on the website.

Yep, I like it a lot. Particularly the taller one, it's interesting.

This is ridiculously beautiful!!!! God I hope it gets built. The impact this will have on the eastern side of the city will be phenomenal. Love the use of greenary along the facades and the juxtaposing of heights, surrounding itself with lower buildings makes this one seem so much taller than 78 metres

This is a surprise after it went quiet, wonder if this will be for construction or a sales office. None of their previous developments had a sales office.

Fantastic bold design - Adelaide needs more of these - seems we may see them too given the upsurge in hotels and resi blocks going up.
Would have to be one of the best external designs I've seen for Adelaide in some time.
