I absolutely love the architectural flare in this one. Beautiful and simply gorgeous.

Will be interesting to see if high rise on GH rd will sell.
For me the marketable aspect of Parkside, Wayville, etc is they offer the space of suburban living while being city adjacent.
GH Rd is very busy and it's still a decent walk to the northern part of the city.
Doubt the apartment price would be much less than in the city itself.
That being said, I hope it sells as more people traversing the southern parklands each day is a good thing.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Air Apartments seem to sell pretty easily - I imagine these will too - even with that "wonderful architecture" - think the developer has won that battle with the architect!

Considering this is on a corner why does the Western facing walls have solid concrete, Wouldn't it be nice for the balconies to wrap around the corner and allow a lot more natural light in too.

This proposal has no architectural merit. So bland.
[COM] Re: 56 Greenhill Road, Wayville | 27m | 8 Levels | Mixed Use
No flare or flair to be found in this design, but it's fine enough and brings the welcome addition of residents beside the parklands. I'd rather see South Tce develop first but it's good to see GH Rd getting some action too.
Conveniently located to the new Wayville station too.Wayno wrote:GH Rd is very busy and it's still a decent walk to the northern part of the city.

I'm all for infill development. Just not at all costs where design is compromised. It is ugly and bland. Back to the drawing board please.

I think it looks fine. Not every building is going to be a masterpiece, otherwise costs will be out of control and no one will be able to afford to use these buildings.

Cheap crappy looking design, we need to do better than this, otherwise the NIMBY's will be screaming endlessly about 'nasty" apartment blocks ruining their area.

This section of Greenhill Road is already a hodge-podge of ugly and interesting office buildings. There's everything from the one level 1970's timberframe, through the 1980's glass and pebble dashed concrete three level, to glass (three level) towers.
This proposal is a vast improvement on the two level office that's there now. I walk past this site often. Pity the one on the opposite side of Joslin Street is not going as well, as that is even worse.

Great design doesn't have to be expensive, just clever. This one just reeks of laziness.bits wrote:I think it looks fine. Not every building is going to be a masterpiece, otherwise costs will be out of control and no one will be able to afford to use these buildings.
