I may be wrong, but, that could be the base of a concrete pump... There looks to be another internal mechanical pump, plus the tower sections look locked.
Time will tell!

I don't think this is a crane base . I think this could be a pile testing rig . It is located directly over a test pile and has internal cables going up and over the top and down the west (far) side.
[COM] Re: UniSA - Centre for Cancer Biology | 72m | $220 million
This is not a crane base but is actually a pile testing rig .It just happens to be made of tower crane sections. On many sites using piles a number of test piles are cast along with the normal piles. The test piles extend a metre or so above ground level. These are then tested to destruction. In my picture there are 2 test piles shown one directly under the rig. This testing rig has since been removed from this site. Sorry for getting one's hopes up, but no doubt a crane base will arrive soon.

Ah thanks EBG I was wondering why they had those piles sticking out of the ground like that

The piling is still proceeding. I think the lift core could be in the set down area in the centre of the picture, where the work men are standing

The piling is finished and the raft footing in the triangular core area at the western end (towards the Adel Medical school) has been poured. it is covered with clear plastic sheeting to stop excessive evapouration losses.
Large drain pipes are being installed along the side by the railway tracks.

Crane base installed this morning in the South-West corner of the site. Not sure if there will be a second but i suspect there will be.

That'll place it bloody close to the eastern crane of the adjacent site...Dvious wrote:Crane base installed this morning in the South-West corner of the site. Not sure if there will be a second but i suspect there will be.

As Devious wrote a crane base appeared this morning near the south western edge of the site. (see also crane information file) . The base has not been concreted in yet.
There is a deep footing for a lift core/stairs at the eastern (Morphett site end).
