On a per capita basis Adelaide in terms of apartments sold has done better then Melbourne.
Melbourne is 3 times bigger and 1462 / 3 = 487, which is less then Adelaide's 496
.
Actually this is just based on suburbs Melbourne (3000, 3004?) has 28,000 people while Adelaide (5000) has 13,000 people (2011 Census)
So Melbourne is just over twice the population.

If something good came out of last months Hindley Street fire it is that the fronting Polites building (former Tilt building) had had its terrible blue cladding removed from its frontage - actually a nice looking building behind all that (with a fresh lick of paint to boot)

Let me guess, it's been painted white?

Only last week did I contemplate asking what the facade of that building looked like. It is great to see it uncovered!
Can anyone point me toward a photograph of the building opposite (L.C. House) without its equally awful cladding?

Ja, I can totally see why they felt the need to cover that building in shitty blue mesh cladding for so bloody long, that building totally isn't worthy of the streetscape.
Wouldn't mind also seeing the real LC House (or at least what's left of it) before it's demolished for that Holiday Inn Express.

I never thought I'd say this (because I really hate the Polites branding) but what a MASSIVE improvement. Just by changing that one building that part of Hindley Street looks so much better.

Thanks for getting a photo, will have to go back once all the cladding is removed.
A reminder of how it previously looked. Massive improvements!

That's the cleanest I've ever seen a Polites building! Shame the ground level has been modified beyond redeemable over the years.

Excluding the loss to the affected businesses, this fire was a blessing. Soooo much better!
Would be even better if the Polites signage was removed....
