[COM] Bunnings (ex-Masters) Adelaide Airport
[COM] Re: Masters Adelaide Airport
From memory they had one fixed back wheel so you can't push them sideways.
Makes them easy to push but terrible when there are other people/trollies getting in your way.
The other bad bit about the trollies is that they push them through a roller door in the front of the the building for you to get when you are inside but they should be pushing the trollies through into the building so when you go to get one the handle end of the trolley is facing you. Would make it much nicer, I don't think I was the only person shaking my head.
They were missing a few things that I was looking for and had other things that Bunnings have. They only had about 2/3 the range of irrigation gear but had fuel line and plastic hose by the meter that Bunnings don't.

Are the trolleys at Masters going to be 2015's Dyson Airblade in this website?
Only time will tell.

Does anyone have any insights as to what may happen to this site when Masters closes?
My tip would be for the area to be divided, with Bunnings taking say 8000 sqm and the remainder split into say 3 tenancies of about 1500 sqm each, with Officeworks and maybe say some furniture shops moving in?

That's probably the most logical solution to the Adelaide Airport Masters.Adeguy72 wrote:Does anyone have any insights as to what may happen to this site when Masters closes?

The one under construction at Parafield will be interesting though - no way will Bunnings just take over that one, and Officeworks is already setting up in that complex, and the Entertainment Complex will probably limit it's potential use further. That one potentially could look like a massive white elephant given all the work done to Main North Rd to accommodate the area.

Perhaps Mitre 10 Mega could take over the buildings.Adeguy72 wrote:Does anyone have any insights as to what may happen to this site when Masters closes?

Orange & Black looks more attractive than Grey & Blue.
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

Bunnings won't take either Masters store. They don't need them.
I'm still of the opinion that it won't be a 'hardware' store.

An indoor trampoline centre under the name of Flip-Out could be ideal for either the Noarlunga or Parafield buildings.ChillyPhilly wrote:Bunnings won't take either Masters store. They don't need them.

Didn't Mitre 10 exit the big box concept in Australia years ago.The Scooter Guy wrote:Perhaps Mitre 10 Mega could take over the buildings.Adeguy72 wrote:Does anyone have any insights as to what may happen to this site when Masters closes?

Adelaide's former Mitre 10 Mega (at Modbury) is now Bunnings (and has been for nearly 10 years)

indoor race track
Masters was a flawed plan, I never envisaged it to be a money maker. They would have been better off opening a Lowes (the American version) store there, not a parody.

Easy to say this now but Woolworths didn't do a good job with Masters, setting up that store near the airport which
is so close to Bunnings Mile End.

It's not even that it was close. Bunnings is as much a community organisation/presence as it is a hardware brand. They are basically a monopoly. Whatever Masters could or would do, Bunnings would simply do better. They were never going to have success. Masters was created for the purpose of competing, rather than trying to be different.
