Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
They're just doing heritage conservation work on the building - taking a bit longer than expected so you'd be forgiven for thinking it was something major!
Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
I was hoping it might have been demolition work for the student accommodation tower. I
think the site for that is a bit further down and it looks like it won't be going ahead for a few
years unfortunately.

Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
I went past the Medical building whilst on the train this afternoon, didn't have a chance to grab any photos..
The western crane is up and the core is progressing upwards around it. Around half a dozen prefab columns have been erected in the North West corner. On the eastern side, the crane base is in and the eastern core has quite a lot of form work around it.
I suspect this will begin to grow quite quickly in the new year.

Crane would really only be necessary for convenience due to the size of the size. You would almost think so...

Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
Hindley Street is closed this coming weekend between west terrace and Morphett Street. For a crane?
Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
There's no crane base on site. Maybe the council might be making some changes to the slippery pavers.
Re: University of South Australia - Developments and News
what slippery pavers? Council recently spent millions ripping them up to lay down nice smooth non-slip asphalt so they could return the speed limit back to 50ghs wrote:There's no crane base on site. Maybe the council might be making some changes to the slippery pavers.
