Great photos Pikey.
I've already declared myself a fan of this building as far as buildings go. I get to look at it often and I find it pleasant to look at under most weather/lighting conditions. The patterning in the design on the east facing side is really obvious when you are looking from the nearby tram stop and is a very nice touch.
I have to say I've seen quite a few pedestrians taking a good look at this building also - maybe only because they hate it, maybe not - but it's rare for a building in Adelaide to get a sustained look from anyone.

On a sunny day, this looks like an absolute gem but on an overcast day, it looks very muted and brown. With a few other glass towers surrounding this, I feel this will really com forth.

That defeats the whole purpose of a high-rise building, they're meant to stand on their own two feet without the need to be washed out by other buildings.Mpol wrote:With a few other glass towers surrounding this, I feel this will really com forth.

I like it in bad stormy weather then building looks dark and some what sinister (as in my picture on march18 ). I waiting for winter to get another picture.

the only problem i have with this development is the podium car park which essentially sh*ts all over Yarwood's legacy of hitting back at the bourgeois car culture of Adelaide /s

Bourgeois car culture? That's a bit extreme... Adelaide is a city that needs a balanced approach to transport and people movement, and cars do still have a place in our society for now and the foreseeable future. Cars should not be king, of course, but they are useful for some occupations and uses.

it was just a bit of sarcasm making fun of some forumers attitude toward motorists.Norman wrote:Bourgeois car culture? That's a bit extreme... All but the waist level concrete barriers are gone from this site, really gives you an impression of how this will look from day to day. They've also repaved the footpath. Any idea if any leases have been signed for the shopfronts below? I'd imagine that it would be aimed at restaurants or cafes...

One side has been rented by a Japanese Restaurant that is not cheap or too expensive...Patrick_27 wrote:All but the waist level concrete barriers are gone from this site, really gives you an impression of how this will look from day to day.
