[U/C] Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Extension)

It might come from same manufacturer but it doesn't mean its the same quality. Once many Aldi stores open up here the novelty will wear off.

Really? They already have 10% of the market share in Australia, and they are still expending in the eastern states where they have hundreds of stores. After 10 years of operating in Australia, any sort of "novelty" would have worn off by now.Eurostar wrote:It might come from same manufacturer but it doesn't mean its the same quality. I disagree - I found their house brand soft drinks to be pretty good.Eurostar wrote:The Aldi own brand soft drinks are watery.
Actually, there's very little of Aldi's stuff I haven't liked yet.

That would explain why Mum reckons their Coke tastes like Pepsi.duke wrote:Most of their own brand products are made by the brand name manufacturer anyway.electrictechron wrote:I know Aldi loves their private brands but I was expecting them to at least be more creative with their products.
Eg. the cola is made by Schweppes and the bread is made by Tip-Top.
Most of their products are made in Australia and no products contain artificial colors which is great for my dad who is allergic.
They are consistently winning awards for their products https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/awards/
Shopping at Aldi is different. If you want variety and someone to pretend to care how your day is while they pack your bags, then Coles, Woolworths or Foodland is the place. If you want to get your shopping done quick, costing you less for decent products then Aldi may be the option. Aldi isn't for everyone, and they don't pretend to be.
I think the biggest issue Aldi is facing in SA is that so many people were expecting it to be another Costco.
You've summed up Aldi pretty well. You also have the people that turn up to Aldi expecting it to be a full line supermarket - which is like those people that fly Tigerair, expect it to be a full service airline, then complain over things like paying for luggage or on board snacks.

They didn't even bother changing the outside/inside colour scheme or even where the checkout is...

Good idea as there is a lack of furniture stores around the area besides Myer and Radio Rentals that I can think of
[U/C] Re: ONH: Tea Tree Plaza Upgrade | $190m
Yeah it's a pop up store - hence why they kept the Dick Smith's colour scheme rather than their traditional red.The Scooter Guy wrote:A temporary one?Eurostar wrote:What was Dicksmiths is now Le Cornu Living
When they move out, I wonder if Makris will take over the lease and leave the shop dormant for 30 years

Channel 7 news had a funny joke.. They said that Westfield TTP upgrade is going ahead.
No details on what is planned, but they are aiming at getting high end retailers.
The funny part is that construction is "planned to start in the next two years".
Considering the previous upgrade plans are from 2006, I don't have much faith in it going ahead.

TTP needs a major revamp. It's also high time for these large international brands to come to Adelaide.
Rundle Mall struggles with space, therefore most of them will end up in suburban shopping centres.

Speaking at the opening of a new fresh food mall at Westfield Marion on Wednesday, centre group chief operating officer Greg Miles said work would start at Tea Tree Plaza in 2018 as part of a $500 million investment across the state.
The major redevelopments will focus on fashion, particularly attracting “mini-majors” such as H&M and Uniqlo not now available in Adelaide.
As well as 95 new shops, the upgrade will connect the main shopping centre with Tea Tree Plus mall, which is north of the main centre and separate.
A new two-storey car park will also be added.
