[COM] Festival Plaza Tower 1 | 115m | 27 Levels | Office

I'm preying that the concepts of the office tower we have seen, are just that. A concept.Norman wrote:There should be a submission to the DAC soon.
It's the most prominent location in the city, it needs a timeless sleek design. Nothing outrageous, but not a glass box either.

Does anyone know how many metres tall the office tower will be? The basic renders make it seem a good 10-20 metres taller than the intercontinental hotel next door.

Detailed plans have never been lodged.Spurdo wrote:Does anyone know how many metres tall the office tower will be? The basic renders make it seem a good 10-20 metres taller than the intercontinental hotel next door.
When they are, you'll hear about it here.

Some of the sculptures on the lower levels are gone, while on the higher levels nothing has changed.

Workmen were on site today removing sculptures from the upper level, close to KWS.

In Daily article re development start date
Plaza work to begin within weeks
The re-design of Adelaide’s Festival Plaza will commence as soon as the Crows’ local finals campaign ends, with work to begin on lowering Festival Drive to separate vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Construction company Lendlease has been announced as the winner of the $21 million contract to begin the work, which will set the stage for a broader and long-awaited revamp of Riverbank precinct, including the much-touted $300 million expansion of the casino and Walker Corporation’s planned office building, retail area and carpark upgrade.
Premier Jay Weatherill said the work was “a necessary part of the puzzle that brings together all these disparate elements” that would “kick-start the transformation of a long-neglected space”.

There was no activity today 26 Aug 16 - the whole site looks very tired and tacky with no one any where. I could not see where any of the sculptures had been removed. Notice the brown on the convention centre in the background.

Interesting view of the façade of the railway station building, a bit reminiscent of Buckingham Palace. Wondering how much of this will be on view with the new development.
