how good is he wrote:I quite liked the roundabout.. I think it actually made traffic flow easier/quicker!
I've only been through it a few times, but I got the same impression.
Does anyone here use it regularly? What are your impressions of the roundabout?
cheers,
Rhino

They are more expensive and take up more space though.
And suck for pedestrians and cyclists, which probably not an overriding concern at this one!

It was great temporary solution and worked quite well IMO.

Those switchbacks going uphill, dodging pedestrians, is going to be so much fun on the bike.

There are quite a few curved paths on and off of bridges in Brisbane and they seem to work fine. The picture makes it look pretty tight to get on and off of the incline, especially coming from under the bridge and wanting to go over it or coming down off the bridge and turning left.
That turn doesn't have as wide a radius as the ones up higher.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before but there's a site with more recent information on the Northern Connector than presently on Infrastructure SA.

Of interest is the industry breakfast briefing from Aug 23.
Project information in the second half of that presentation shows an image of the updated southern interchange design with the long viaduct ramp shown in some other promotional material. That interchange has 3 bridges in total (including that viaduct ramp). Timelines for the individual project sections are also shown.
Also of interest is the Bolivar Road interchange. That now includes all movements including west side access to the sewage treatment plant according to the above.

The plan in that powerpoint presentation also shows an interchange near Globe Derby at the end of an extension of Elder Smith Drive but the list of bridges (slide 47) doesn't include any for such an interchange. I suspect they are using an old plan so don't get too excited.

The Globe Derby interchange is probably there as ultimate design but not part of the upcoming build.

Late this afternoon traffic was using the new Grange Rd bridge controlled by Stop/Go boards. Manton St was still closed and traffic lights were being installed.

In another milestone for the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the Grange Road bridge is now open to traffic!
Thank you for your patience last weekend while the T2T Project team worked to remove the temporary roundabout.
It was a smooth ride, allowing the first traffic to drive along the bridge on Monday morning.
