Here are some photos I took of this building site, from different angles, when I was walking around the area last weekend.

Is it planned for the building to abut the bridge, or will there be a gap between the two? If it does connect, will there be any form of entrance along the bridge to the 2nd/3rd floor?

Yes there will be a Morphett Street entrance.Phantom wrote:Is it planned for the building to abut the bridge, or will there be a gap between the two? If it does connect, will there be any form of entrance along the bridge to the 2nd/3rd floor?

Went past this one the other day and they have installed the first glass panels on the north side. Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture.

Some more windows have been installed with a random pattern of glass sizes and mini sun shades.

Is this still to have an entrance/exit onto the Morphett St bridge? No sign of it - anyone have a plan/know where it will go?

https://youtu.be/6OwNfvlbYfE - at about 10.20 in this video they do say it will have Morphett Street access but you are right, it isn't there yet!

Great thanks for that, very informative but I never would have believed that people can talk for 41 mins about a building!

This precinct looks great coming in/out via train now, you know you're in the city when coming in via train after years of slowly rolling by some skaters. On the topic of skaters though I dont believe they've given them a replacement as of yet, which is quite disappointing. A new skatepark should have been in the works well before the original city skate was dismantled. I notice they mull around Vic Square now and are quite entertaining to watch!

There's a 'temporary' skate facility in the parklands off Bartel's Road. Seems reasonably well used as indicated by the periodic rumble of skaters en route through the East End. But hasn't captured the interest of as many as had City Skate, so there are nomadic groups who mostly make use of North Terrace or Victoria Square. Somewhere more central and permanent needs to be found to build something adequate for these guys and girls.YellowRoad wrote:This precinct looks great coming in/out via train now, you know you're in the city when coming in via train after years of slowly rolling by some skaters. That's good to hear. Agree with a more central location should be made available for them. Perhaps the undeveloped side of Vic Square could incorporate such facilities. Light/Whitmore square also appear to be good options. The parklands is okay in the meantime but if they're permanently based there, the opportunity for passive surveillance on the park that would otherwise exist with squares would be lost. Anyway back on topic, excited to see the end result of the medical precinct, should be a hype of activity.SRW wrote:There's a 'temporary' skate facility in the parklands off Bartel's Road. Got some pictures of this one today. Also glass is now being installed on the east side of the building.
