On 22nd December application was lodged with the ACC to demolish the existing building and construct a 9 level apartment building consisting of 222 student accommodation units. Sounds like a stumpy building, but good nevertheless. Cost of $8,000,000.

I think that this one is U/C, as I went past the site today and the building currently occupying the site appears to be under demolition.

Thought it was interesting as that side of city has quite restrictive height limits, and this building is 9 levels.

There was a render of it in the tiser about a month or 2 back, I dont think anyone scanned it in. To describe it... looks kinda like 223 North terrace (the top half that is). Not bad for cheap student accomodation, a lot better than the ones on hindley street put it that way. But it is one hell of a fat building, 200 or so apartments over 9 levels... you do the math.

Most purpose built student apartments are about half the size of traditional studio apartments. There is usually room for a single bed, desk, 1.5m long kitchen bench, small built in robes & a compact bathroom.
