Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Has this been aproved or is it just a proposal. It looks awesome thats what that part of town needs.

Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Its part of a wider plan to turn the area into a IT / Media Precinct (including the 7 studios and a possible radio station and film studio).
That render looks nice

Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Isn't it strange how the majority of low to mid rise projects display interesting architecture, yet the high-rise projects are pretty much boring glass cubes. Why is this so?
Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
I haven't been out that side of town for a while, but the last time I was there I thought that's where the Entertainment Centre is - corner of Port Road and Adam Street?
And what is un-cubic about that render? Looks like a cube to me.

Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
The basic shape could be said to be a cube, however unlike the majority of high-rise projects, this development incorporates an interesting roof structure, whilst also including interesting aspects on the facade. If this were a high-rise, the building would only have the light-blue glass featured in the image and not much more.rhino wrote:I haven't been out that side of town for a while, but the last time I was there I thought that's where the Entertainment Centre is - corner of Port Road and Adam Street?

Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Although I would say that this development is also a glass cube, I'd have to agree with you. The UniSA arts building on North Terrace is a great example. I guess it's more risky to be adventurous with bigger buildings given our market and our council. I just want to see more curves but maybe that's because I'm a guy. Will wrote:Isn't it strange how the majority of low to mid rise projects display interesting architecture, yet the high-rise projects are pretty much boring glass cubes. Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Sorry to drag up all these old threads. Any news on this one? I couldn't find any mention on the Colliers website.
Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Not sure if these are for the same site but I found these on Port Road near Bowden railway station and the Entertainment Centre.+
Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Nup, that's about 500m up the road from Channel Seven where this Nexus thing is meant to go.
Re: 7 Level Nexus Centre Port Road
Found this on the architects website.
A contemporary 8 storey office building incorporating associated parking and retail tenancies was proposed due to increasing demand for city fringe office accommodation and foreseen potential of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre site (AEC). Although urban in its nature, Nexus – Lot 101 delivers an integrated set of uses; retail, entertainment and media. It is a building that resonates with its’ neighbours Channel 7, AEC and Norbertos to create a campus style development and enhance the activity along the top of Port Road. The development will encompass world’s best approach in passive and active sustainable development and aims to achieve a 5 star rating.

Shame this isn't in the City, it looks rather cool.
