I personally love the triangle things.rev wrote:I'm not sold on those triangle things.Llessur2002 wrote:That looks awesome. Would be more than happy for that to set the precedent of the new Adelaide.
If this becomes our new tallest, this will seriously make me so happy.
I remember back in 2008 with 20-22 Currie Street and how excited I was about it and how disappointed I was when it was slowly but surely cancelled.
Is this development further along the line then where 20-22 Currie Street got toward the end?
[COM] Re: Renaissance Arcade | 132m | 40lvls | Realm Apartments
Much further advanced. This one has presales. Currie street was after a tenant but as it was 2008 and gfc no company would commit to over 30,000 of office space.

Yeah that makes total sense. Exciting times!Ben wrote:Much further advanced. This one has presales. Currie street was after a tenant but as it was 2008 and gfc no company would commit to over 30,000 of office space.

Much the same as we've seen before but further back.

Is there any word on a retail component to this development? The Renaissance Arcade in its current state is quite tardy, however some of the food outlets are pretty good. I am thinking something along the lines of the Emporium in Melbourne. It is an area ripe for a new retail precinct with the Universities just over the road.
[COM] Re: Renaissance Arcade | 132m | 40lvls | Realm Apartments
I don't think there was a large retail component, but I think there will be some lower ground retail/food offerings.

Have to disagree. There is already plenty of retail space in the area, more would detract, create more empty tenancies, lower retail returns, and more of the extreme lower end outlet variety.AroundADL wrote:Is there any word on a retail component to this development? Adelaide CBD apartment interest rises as two major towers record strong off-the-plan sales
Sales manager for Realm, Ben Small, said sales for Adelaide’s soon-to-be tallest building, the $100 million, 40-storey building at 9-19 Austin St, were going well with 50 per cent of the complex’s 314 apartments sold since November.
“To be 50 per cent sold of that 314 in this short of a period of time is very promising and we look forward to selling the rest,” Mr Small said.
“Things are moving along very quickly and we plan to be at 70 per cent by Easter.
Despite The Advertiser recently reporting on the number of apartment complexes that have failed to get off the ground, Mr Small said Realm was definitely happening — a builder will be announced in April and work on the site will begin midyear.
“It’s definitely going ahead, our backers are from the east coast and they have never had an issue with getting a development up,” Mr Small said.

Can't wait to see this. With Frome St. Kudo and Echelon the skyline will be very different - esp. when developers are realising there is a market for such in Adelaide. The aim of the council to have more living in the CBD is coming despite any other plans they might have. What is the projected CBD population by 2030? Of note also - how close Frome St dev't and Rhealm are to the new tram extension.

Today I noticed construction signs, workers and demolishion rubble down Austin Street. Got excited, but then I realised that was from the back of the uni apartments on North Terrace.

I got an email today stating 75% sold.
