Have they knocked the front out of the Festival Centre yet?

Festival Plaza has now been fenced off with workmen on site this morning.
Minor demolition has begun around the exterior of the Festival Centre.

I am so excited for this project to come to life. I really do hope however that they integrate some sort of activation of the river. Something along the lines of a 'nightly laser show' or other lighting feature to really encourage people to enjoy the river.
I feel as though this project could really change the feel of our city from Country Town to a happenning urban city!

Adelaide's always been a happening urban city, ever since 1836.

Some pictures around the festival centre today 14 Mar 2017, showing the north eastern side of the festival theatre (from King William St) and the space between the casino and the Play House. As Crawf mentioned above the pedestrian bridge has been removed. The bridge ended at the extreme right hand side of picture 3. (Picture 3 is looking in the opposite direction to Norman's picture above).

An update of the site of the casino hotel area. Nothing much has happened on the upper level of the Festival Plaza next to parliament. The cark car closed weeks ago yet people still drive up to the entrance expecting to park there.

Hi Norman. I know how difficult it is to take these pictures especially with all the green tape on the wire fence just by the steps down to the bridge over the Torrens.

A new Adelaide Festival Centre Walk of Fame will be a feature of the redevelopment of the Riverbank precinct.
The Walk
Cast your vote (by July 9) for one of the many artists who have appeared at the Festival Centre in 2016 (see link below).
You can also check out the long list of artists (already chosen by critics and popular vote each year from 1973 on) who will feature on the Walk of Fame.
Interesting list!
