Pub downstairs on King William St?

#1 Post by PerthGirl » Mon Jul 10, 2017 4:16 pm

I worked in Adelaide CBD 1996-1997 (not originally from Adelaide). After work I'd go to a pub specifically for the sensational Two Dogs Lemonade. I must have enjoyed said 'lemonade' because I can no longer remember where this pub was. I think it was on King William St, on the west side, somewhere between the Ambassadors and Hindley St. The pub was small, downstairs, and accessed via an external stone staircase. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Please help. I revisited King William St last year, and can't find any sign there was such a pub ...

Bull & Bear maybe? It's now Jack Ruby.

Definitely the Bull & Bear, now I've had a look at the Jack Ruby location, and at the stair entrances from King William St, and at one current pic which shows the very familiar bar and layout. Thank you so much, it was driving me bonkers not figuring out the fave place where I used to enjoy gallons of that 'lemonade' ...
