Ok, fair enough. Out of curiosity, what would you like or prefer. Say the developer came to you and said we have plans for a 31 level building here in Adelaide, what would you 'mould' your new building on? Can you give us example of something you would like?
Not starting an argument, just curious as to your reasons.

Something tapered, like Transamerica Pyramid [San Francisco] or if you want to go the extreme, the Shard London Bridge [London]. I also really like the Leadenhall Building design, also in London.

To me, this building looks like 2 buildings mashed into one. The 1st being the cubed-ish shaped structure flanking its west, and the other being the 'stick' extension' with distortionate curved addition forming a 'L' shape from above, flanking its east. Preferably, I would rather the stick and curve extensions taken out, and be left with the cubed-ish structure.

It's that shape as it is preserving two historically important buildings around it. I think it's a good compromise and striking at the same time.

I'll reserve my judgement, when I see a northern skyline shot

I'm surprised no-ones picked up on this. But it appears the curve is gone!

Thanks to Locke on SSL for the find.

I was always wondering how the overhanging curve was ever going to be engineered successfully, because there'd be a huge amount of bending moment and force acting at the top of the building.

This was bound to happen, the initial design was too modern for Adelaide.

I would also like to mention that not only have the unique elements of the building gone, some 30m have also been deleted.

Uuggh. If this is correct, then it's suddenly a very uninteresting building.

Are you for real?
A "scaled down" version yet again?!

So we've gone from a modern, iconic, world class tower, to THAT.

Adelaide - where second best is always good enough.

Get me out of this god forsaken place.

What was the reason for the downscaling of the proposal? Demand for that amount of office space wasn't there or was CASA involved?
