Interesting, maybe Hoyts will revamp the TTP site to offer Hoyts Lux with in-cinema dining.Ben wrote:Wonder what this involves:

Given they've let the existing complex rot pretty much, I'd be surprised if they were to all of a sudden put in a Lux cinemabits wrote:Interesting, maybe Hoyts will revamp the TTP site to offer Hoyts Lux with in-cinema dining.Ben wrote:Wonder what this involves:

When Tea Tree Plaza’s $235m facelift could get underway: Stage one gets tick of approval.
TEA TREE Plaza is a step closer to a major expansion including 10 new restaurants.
Stage one of a $235 million “entertainment and lifestyle precinct” development at the plaza has now been ticked off by the State Government.
Scentre Group’s head of corporate affairs Julia Clarke said the new development, with “casual dining options” next door to the existing cinema complex, was tracking well.

The upgrade is long overdue. TTP is looking very tired
The development will also see the construction of a new walkway connecting it with Tea Tree Plus, with an extra 95 stores. Including major stores such as H&M and Uniqlo..... who knows maybe a second Apple store?
Expected to begin later this year.

I am usually one not to be negative, but considering how this project has gone over the years, I will believe it when they break ground.crawf wrote: Expected to begin later this year.

The connection to Tea Tree Plus is stage two, which still haven't been lodged for approval.crawf wrote:The upgrade is long overdue. TTP is looking very tired

The development is for a 'casual dining' precinct. That just sounds like an extended food court to me.
I also hope the 'entertainment' element of stage 1 is a bit more than Hoyts' plan to install recliner seats in their cinemas.
Stage 2 is desperately needed, yet we still sit and wait.

This is interesting? The place desperately needs some casual dining type options.

I often wonder if these surveys are legitimate or just trying to get email addresses to spam.nath91 wrote:This is interesting? The place desperately needs some casual dining type options.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

It got Westfield ttp advertised here and so far bumped twice.
On Facebook they will be on a bunch of feeds with commented, liked, shared etc.
$200 for that amount of advertising is amazing value.

Both - it's a legitimate survey, but they'll be collecting e-mails to 'market' to people.monotonehell wrote:I often wonder if these surveys are legitimate or just trying to get email addresses to spam.nath91 wrote:This is interesting? The place desperately needs some casual dining type options.
Agreed they need more casual dining options up there. At the moment there's Buongorno's, which is great, but overpriced, and a Caffe Primo that, quite frankly, Gordon Ramsay needs to visit as it's reputation for dangerous food (like half-raw chicken schnitzels) and appalling service is pretty widely known in the area.

Work to begin later this year.

More entertainment, less parking in $235m Tea Tree Plaza revamp
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messenger ... 34d697a3c0
CARPARKING could be cut back and cinema screenings increased under a major $235 million revamp of Tea Tree Plaza.
The state’s Development Assessment Commission has approved the Scentre Group’s application for the first stage of the redevelopment, with work expected to begin by the end of the year.
The project would involve two extra cinemas.
Design plans seen by the Northeastern Weekly this month show a proposed entertainment and leisure precinct near the existing cinema at the junction of Reservoir and North East roads.
The plans also indicate a significant number of parking spaces could be gobbled up to make way for the extension, which would be completed in two stages.
But Scentre, which owns Tea Tree Plaza, would not say how many carparks might be lost.
The redevelopment includes cafes and restaurants, along with a refurbished lobby for moviegoers.
The Scentre Group’s application of “additions and alterations” to the plaza has been listed on the DAC website for many months.
Detailed plans for the second stage of development have not yet been submitted for approval.
That stage would focus on fashion, attracting such outlets as H&M and Uniqlo, with up to 95 new shops.
Tea Tree Gully Mayor Kevin Knight said the plaza’s expansion was good news for local consumers, but he wanted to know how the carparks would be replaced.
“It (the plaza) has a huge impact on our community – it’s a massive shopping precinct,” he said.
“It’s got to be good for the area. It’s very central to our city.”
The plaza is also in the process of upgrading its food court with work expected to be completed by the end of the year.
It will feature new seating, large communal benches and other improvements.
Management said access to the court would not be affected during the upgrade with work happening at night.

If the cinema side of things doesn't include the bigger plush recliners with bigger arm rests, then they shouldn't bother.
[U/C] Re: Tea Tree Plaza Upgrade | $190m
Food Court works have already commenced. Completely stripped down to a shell with temporary tables in.
Should this thread be changed from [ONH] to [APP] if DAC has given the go ahead?

[U/C] Re: Tea Tree Plaza Upgrade | $190m
I've heard they will be putting recliners in all cinemas (like they've done at Salisbury).
Wouldn't object if the 2 extra cinemas are something a little different - either La Premiere (Hoyts' answer to Gold Class) or Bean Bag cinema.
