I wouldve also assumed that this is for the tram extension so interesting to see that the doors are open...
As far as I am aware, the DA for this site has now lapsed and they will need to resubmit but there are revised plans for the site so perhaps this is imminent.
I would say that the development is being revised to a more economical development. The previous proposal had apartments selling
for more then $3 million. Not in Adelayed.

There have been issues with White ants destroying the inside of the building that was originally to be retained, so they have resubmitted an application with internal changes. These are expected to be approved on Thursday and this will allow construction to commence.
Some slight changes to the appearance.

This was deffered as the Dac or SCAP as they are now know want to have further investigations done to see if the inside can be retained at all. Frustrating for the developer but good to know they don't just rubber stamp everything.

Yes great to know.
What is happening on the blank walls? Why can't they reject a few like this to show developers they won't just approve anything with a concrete wall? This is set in from potential neighbouring towers, surely there is room for better designs.

On the eastern side shown there, most apartments if not all have a small terrace.

If I wanted to build a skyscraper above an existing building I wouldn't exactly be heartbroken if it turned out I could demolish it.

Article on ABC News online regarding North Terrace today. In it there is a brief mention that this development has been placed “on hold”.

Hopefully we will get something good here. I can't imagine many better locations in town for a major residential development.

Personally see nothing wrong with it being student accommodation, just hope it's not another shit design. Would like to see the neighbouring site get a wriggle on, had a lot of ground level activation that this section of North Terrace needs.
