Re: # U/C - Flinders University - 2 x 5 levels; $45 million
I'm going to try to take some shots of the other building as well... it will be good tomorrow as there are fewer students looking at me as if I was an alien studying human architecture...

I can get some good pics from my backyard of the two cranes. Got a pretty good view of the "skyline" of Flinders!
Re: # U/C - Flinders University - 2 x 5 levels; $45 million
I have found this image of the Health Sciences Building which is under construction.

Good work Will. I go past both buildings almost everyday, so it's great to see the progress they do. Not sure when the completion day for both are.

wow, I went to Flinders Ltd (universities they were about 10 years ago), quite amazing to see all this development. Havent been down there for a few years. Special thanks to the Asian students who pay for all this. How much are full fees nowadays?
Universities must be one of Australias fastest growing businesses. Good to see new buildings though

I remember reading somewhere that both buildings are expected to be open at the end of next year. But I'll have to confirm this for you.

On a side note, am I the only one who thinks FMC and Flinders Uni are rather horridly designed from a transport perspective?
Re: # U/C - Flinders University - 2 x 5 levels; $45 million
No, I have to agree there. The roads are too narrow for the busses, the train line stops to far north and there is simply not enough options for people after 7pm to get up there.AtD wrote:On a side note, am I the only one who thinks FMC and Flinders Uni are rather horridly designed from a transport perspective?

Atd, I agree also. Flinders Uni is one of the most beautiful situated and presented campuses in the world. Its views of the plains are great and its building that rise up the hills look great. However, I think Dumb and Dumber couldnt put it in any worse spot, for transport needs. Not only its position makes it hard for pulic transport, but its internal road layout make it difficult also. And because of the steep hills, it discourages cycling.

With the traffic I got stuck in the other night, it would have been faster to take the train! Will wrote:That's why i drive to uni!AtD wrote:On a side note, am I the only one who thinks FMC and Flinders Uni are rather horridly designed from a transport perspective?

Beautifully situated, yes, but well presented? I don't think it's too great in that area at least insofar as building architecture and landscaping are concerned.jk1237 wrote:Flinders Uni is one of the most beautiful situated and presented campuses in the world.
