[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
Excavation around the "bridges" over Torrens and Port roads seems to be quite progressed from the little I could make out while driving past. Should be quite a sight when the 'trench' is well established across the route.

Its great that they have added this, just a bit of a shame that the footage is 2-3 months old.Norman wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2017 12:45 pmDPTI has uploaded some drone footage for the Darlington section:

Jesus, they're big!
I've only seen them when I've been driving past. I hadn't thought about heading into the HJs carpark. Great pics as always EBG!

The Hawker Street bridge should be open any day now. They have finished asphalting the bridge from what I saw and are now just finishing up the connection to the road.

Great pictures .How did you take them without getting run over. The trouble with this site is that there is nowhere to park.

Have put this here as it's technically part of the T2T project but mods feel free to move to the rail infrastructure thread if that's more appropriate:
A minor side note in the grand scheme of things but rumour has it that T2T will now be funding some work at Croydon Railway Station just prior to the new overpass - apparently the tracks are too close together which means a TSR for trains passing through this area. My understanding is that this will involve one or both platforms being rebuilt or re-engineered to amend this. The works will also include raising both platforms to the height of the existing wheelchair ramps plus new lighting, shelters, emergency phone etc.
Apparently this work is scheduled to start during the next line closure for the Torrens Junction project - end of Sept maybe?

I spent time in the ADF so I'm usually pretty good with TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) what is a TSR please?Llessur2002 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 8:42 amHave put this here as it's technically part of the T2T project but mods feel free to move to the rail infrastructure thread if that's more appropriate:

Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.
