Headline appears to be incomplete - should probably specify eastern suburbs.

Didn't they basicaly lose the unlosable election last time by playing to their base in these areas? Perhaps he needs to seek out some more perspectives in addition to those people at his backyard BBQ.

All the big picture stuff we face in this state he's banging on about street level drug crime, multi story buildings in the suburbs and speed limits on country roads...

They also announced that they would create regional funds which would save mining royalties and spend them on road infrastructure. Sure the roads need some maintenance, but then it will just make the ex-rural residents' journeys smoother as they move out of the regions. The roads aren't what's killing the rural areas - it's the lack of economic activity.

This idea is already in play in WA, but they realised right from the start that
a) roads would suck up all the money and not fix the problem
b) people don't leave the regions because the roads are bad, they leave because of lack of health services, education services, and other things communities need.

Labor have set themselves up for a home run this time around, their campaign should be pretty painless against Marshall.

Interestingly, the Advertiser (where the bank industry has been buying up countless full page ads) actually disclosed that in the lead paragraph of their story, and yet InDaily only referred to it as "privately commissioned", no mention of who at all.

She says she doesn't want to smear his name, but that's exactly what she is trying to do.

So what did the Advertiser ask her? Was Mr X a control freak?
More like they asked her some basic questions, and she launched into a tirade about him being controlling and manipulative, then pulls back saying oh I could say more but I don't want to smear his name.
Low, what an appropriate name for her lol.

If her relationship was so awful with him, why did she remain with him for 7 years? Why did he end it, and not her?
If he was being inappropriate, why did she start a relationship with him? She's obviously intelligent and strong willed enough to start a political party, but not capable of standing up for her self? Yeh, right.

What a pathetic individual, trying to throw mud at others to gain interest in her new party.

But if our economy is as bad as he has said... and yet we're still changing as much as we have been in these past five years, imagine what will happen once it improves?
The thing is I have read various reports about the state of our economy, most saying that it's better than we think. So... grains of salt.

He lives in a bubble. A very sad dreary, depressing bubble. I feel sorry for him to see everything so pessimistically, its no way to live.

To be fair, it doesn't affect a developer much beyond there being enough people around to buy what they are building.

That said I do agree with you that there is too much pessimism regarding SA's future. Yes the loss of manufacturing is creating some massive challenges and there are some structural challenges to a state that relied heavily on mining and manufacturing. At the same time there are massive opportunities for Adelaide and I think that in 10 years the city will be in many years unrecognizable from today.

Where should we be looking to? Renewable energy and the manufacturing of, say electric cars and innovative technology?
We have a lot of research re medical institutions and the new hospital. Does this field not garner much revenue for the state?
Apologies we are getting off topic. Going forward we need a government that is going to look for these opportunities. Anyhow.

I cannot even imagine how a near 200m building will look on our flat plains in a skyline that has little near 135m. It will really be something if and when this eventually happens.
