[COM] Re: #Approved : Thomson Playford Building (Gouger St) - 8lvl
Does anyone know if this is now under construction? I drove past today and noticed there was an excavator, or some kind of machinery (couldnt really tell as I couldnt see over the fence from my car) on the site, that wasnt there a few days ago. Is this u/c or are they just preparing the land etc. for a future start?

At this stage, it would appear that the site is being prepared for construction. The work is going to be undertaken by PT Building Services.Snorkie wrote:Does anyone know if this is now under construction? I have seen plans for a 10 level building on the corner of Gouger and Mill Street. It had no official name, but I assume it's the building in this thread. It has an underground car park, ground floor, seven office floors and a roof top plant room. From memory the architects should be MPH (Materne Pennino Hoare) of 5 Vardon Avenue, Adelaide.tambi wrote:Anybody know who the architect is?

crikey pikey, you have been busy with the camera, nice work. Are those elevated views from the carparks?

Yeah mate, first pic from the Central Markets carpark ,and the second one from level 7 of the Mills St carpark.

The contract for the construction has been awarded to Hansen Yunken for $28m. A 15 month lump contract to be completed in October next year. They should start work on site in the next week or so.

Pikey, top shelf on your photos! They really have captured the feel of the various projects with the interesting angles you have accessed around the city. Thank you for your efforts.
Was actually about to report on HY getting the contract for this building but you beat me to it Professor!

This was lodged with the ACC a few days ago:
"vary previous authorisation to construct an 8 storey building, with basement car park, for retail, office and residential use - chnages to northern and eastern façades"
Hopefully this is not another dumbing down.

Hansen Yuncken has been appointed as the construction company for this $28 million development. From their website:
"Construction of an eight storey, plus basement, reinforced concrete framed office building with aluminium window curtain wall and precast concrete panel façade with integrated fitout to upper floors for legal office tenancy. The building is to achieve a 5 star ABGR Rating."
An observation from me, is that half of Gouger Street has been fenced off.
