I'd like to see a better looking building here take use of the idea of the hotchpotch window design. That's the good bit of this one.

Update 27/12/2017. There is one row of normal (floor to ceiling) windows on the rear west side in the fold of the l shape. It is hard to get a clear shot; they can really only be seen from the small side street.

If only the building had turned out like that all over would have been a better outcome than this ghastly monstrosity.

Those photos almost make it look decent... until you zoom out and remove the classy black & white filter.

It's more about finding the right angles and composition that highlight the form and graphic qualities of the building, and using the way light hits it (these were taken around 9:30 in the morning, in bright sunlight, which gave some good contrast between light and shadow). I shoot in black and white as a means of emphasising those elements and pushing a layer of abstraction.Plasmatron wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2018 11:50 amThose photos almost make it look decent... until you zoom out and remove the classy black & white filter.

In all honesty, I love this building from certain angles. The brutalist elements really shine through in some of the recent images shared.

Were they going to use cheap cladding and the due to London incident left it out due to safety without any alternative. Looks tacky and unfinished. Government should force developers/owners fix up the painting/cladding

That's what Dwell on Synagogue Place should be named. Either that or Concrete Shoebox.

That building reminds me of a shot out place in a war zone when viewed from a distance - name ...as someone has said....something similar to stalag 13.
