In a discussion with a ACC heritage architect about building regulations and commercial use, he said there were 500 massage parlours in the square mile of Adelaide.

That's a lot of [likely] empty shops if they were closed down...To the forum, what is the better outcome?

I doubt there are 500 massage parlours in the CBD. Even if it is true or a high number, a vast majority are legitimate businesses offering massage services, not sex services. Even at many workplaces now the employer provides massage services to their staff due to the nature of office work.

I doubt there is even that many in the entire metro area, let alone the CBD.

When you consider how many massage places there are in shopping centres these days there would definitely be at least 500 massage places in the whole of adelaide. In the adelaide CBD there would be about 150 I would think.

After trading for countless years, Allans Music on Gawler Pl has unfortunately closed due to "Unforeseen Circumstances", though the management is on the hunt for a new specific location:

Roger David has vacated its new store. Not surprising as their sales increased from 30% off everything early last year to 40 then 50 then 60 then boxing day was 70% off everything.

I read an article sometime mid last year (rough guess) that spoke about apparel retailers under financial stress, and Roger David was one of them. Apparently they were being shopped around but no one was interested.

I shopped there a few years ago but I'd found in recent years the quality of the clothes had dropped off whilst the price remained the same. Still a shame to see another retailer seemingly on the road to the grave.

Agreed - $69 for a polyester shirt is pretty shocking.

I see they’re opening a Uniqlo in the Perth CBD in the next few months - hopefully we’re not too far off.

Burger Boss on Hindley St will be open in Mid February.

Also, ChurrOz have opened a standalone outlet on James Pl.

Any news on RMP?

I have been told that it's Zara who is moving in, but it's all pure speculation at this point.

That would be a major disappointment if it is Zara

If this is true, I called it despite everyone here so adamantly telling me otherwise. I honestly don't see what's so bad about it being Zara? It doesn't mean H&M or Uniqlo won't ever come here, just means they're a little further off than expected. Might even provide a catalyst for them coming to the Mall...

If it's Zara, there goes my savings.
