Is that the shared path taking shape in the first two pictures along the east side of the works? ?
The tracks appear to be about the same width as nearby roads so they are too wide for a shared use path. I suspect they are for construction vehicles to get around the site without mucking up the NC roadway.

I've juxtaposed the map of the Southern Interchange from the NC PDF file onto the latest Google Earth imagery for the site. Some things line up, but there are evidently smaller modifications to the final product (and hopefully not massive errors instead!).

Old design. Current works match better to the design in a more recent render.

I don't think South road will go to the west just before Regency Road, there's a property for sale currently just before the industrial complex (makin) which would need to be demolished if the road was widened to the west. Maybe someone could buy it and demand the gov't pay you a premium  - https://www.realestate.com.au/property- ... -127217626

And it probably won’t sell as people do realise the possibility of it being compulsory acquired given the pattern of the properties around it.

I'd say it's one of the interchanges near Port Wakefield rd. There just don't seem to be enough roads in the image for it to be the NC/PRXY/Superway interchange. If it is this interchange, shouldn't there be a road heading to the left of the image?

The view of the posted render only includes a portion of the interchange N of the PRExy. It looks N and covers a similar area to ChillyPhilly's juxtaposition.

that's definitely the PRexy interchange, I'm assuming they've changed the design to something like this

Image

old design was northbound right hand turn going under the southbound carriageway and the southbound left hand turn. New design the northbound right hand turn is on a bridge going over them both

That's what I think too Goodsy. Shows how much work is still to be done for the interchange, especially the blue westbound ramp. That'll be the tough one to engineer and will require significant changes around the area.

Ok that second image does appear to be of the prexy/superway interchange..the first image obviously doesn't show any indication of that.

The bridge over the wetlands in the background gives it away. although for the longest time I assumed that picture was of the Bolivar interchange

I think that you are spot on the money. The interesting area is in the North East quadrant which looks like they could be building an off ramp for southbound on the NC to go East on the Salisbury Hwy which then merges with the off ramp for northbound traffic on the Superway going East on the Salisbury Hwy just before it reaches the Highway. Then again it could just be an access road for the earthmoving equipment. A southbound off ramp to go east would only make sense if there wasn't one at the Bolivar Interchange.
