The rumour getting around is that this site was sold for a hotel development, no idea on any details however.
This was slated for South Australia's first Grocon developed residential tower a few years ago, before their business somewhat changed direction.

Would it be a second building to the Peppers on Waymouth brand or a new hotel altogether?

Owned by DQL Holdings Pty Ltd. Director David Lee.

In the absence of a location in the thread title, and without spending 5hrs trawling through the thread, can someone please confirm the address of the site? If we're talking about 18 Bentham St, there is a design underway, with DA likely in the next few months and construction start likely around Q3. Unfortunately half the height of the original proposal, but still a good height for this small site.

Do you know if the proposal will be office, residential, hotel or mixed?

Yep that't the site. Will likely be hotel, subject to DA.

Article in the Advertiser. Will be a Travelodge hotel 18 stories and 61m. To start by August. Should we start a new thread or keep this one?
