I wonder if the building owners are planning on doing anything with their massive rooftop space. Imagine a rooftop bar and/or moonlight cinema...

My only criticism of the whole redevelopment is the disunity of the facade, perhaps there are extra costs involved in doing so but would have it really been that difficult to incorporate the top to bottom windows that will be installed in the first two levels over every other level? Also, the new escalators to the basement level are great but I feel as though it will congest quite easily, could have they not moved them further back into the centre and made the whole opening to the basement a little bigger? Otherwise, it will be good to see this building take on a new lease of life.

Disunified facades seems to be an Adelaide CBD specialty. Rundle Place has the Apple Store, the North Terrace facade of Adelaide Central Plaza has Tiffany. However I honestly don't think the Rundle Mall Plaza facade will be a problem. At least all the lines of the new windows seem to be aligned with the lines on the original facade.

I think it will look fine.

After 36 Years, Antique Market on Grote St is closing its doors for good.
Frankly a good idea actually because of all the unsafe clutter inside.

The "unsafe clutter" is the attraction. Don't be dim.

In a way, it's kind of a shame the redevelopment isn't reversely oriented; a glass windowed food court overlooking Gawler Place would be quite spiffy (especially when performances are being staged).

Antiquarian Booksellers on North Tce had one clutter obstructing a fire extinguisher at the time of one of my visits.
And that is dangerous, even as a temporary measure.

Tried to have lunch at Jack Ruby on King William St but it was locked.
Did the opening times change to Evening Only?

They were up for sale over a year ago, haven't heard anything since. I assumed they were no more.

Rhodes & Beckett have closed again, this time 'straight outta the blue'.
All stock was gone as I peeped through.

Mountain Designs has closed next to former Lorna Jane on Rundle Street which is still vacant. Alannah Hill has also closed on Rundle Street. A whole heaps of vacancies on Rundle including the old American Apparel still.

I'd say that defines 'The Great Australian Blight', because...

Put an 'L' between the 'B' and the 'I' in 'Bight' and you get 'Blight'.

That was a weird one. They had a "stocktake sale" and then they closed and took all the stock away. Well not all the stock, a couple of homeless people are wearing Moutain Design t-shirts.
