Very impressive. I just hope they don't end up going cheap on the materials. Looking forward to seeing more details.

Anyone know who the developer and/or architect is? My only gripe esp. as it’s such a prime site with fantastic views.. why dont they include some/any balconies?

Assuming that the pillars are concrete that looks very much like an older Surfers Paradise/Brisbane building. Should be some interesting variety in the area.
Who's going to be first to Photoshop this and the Adelaidean next to each other?

I look forward to seeing more textural renders. If that grey glass is of comparable quality, combined with what appears to be concrete it should be quite the looker.
I wonder if the developers behind the Adelaidean will resubmit with height variations due to this development. They can push a above ground limit of 170m due to PANOPS, and may want to due to the proximity of this tower.

Still surprised this is student accomodation - you’d have to think there’d be more money in the views for residential purchasers, especially at the higher levels.
That said, the design deserves applause, especially at street.

Two things come to mind. One it looks like it's torn straight out of Brisbane and put here. Secondly, Frome St is reminding me of Elizabeth St in Melbourne, where in the space of 10 years one side of the street becomes a wall of almost uniform scrapers and balances out the skyline. We really need development like this to erase the memory of ACC's ridiculous vision of a 4-18 storey pyramid shaped CBD. Good times, hope it gets up. No wonder Kyren were so desperate to slap caveats on the property.
[COM] Re: 269 North Terrace | ~125m | 34 Levels | student accommodation
The opposite corner on Frome sold a few months back too, so I imagine a development will be proposed there shortly although due to the irregular shape of the site they may try and get the adjacent site too.

Love it. That parcel nestled in with the Alpha Apartments is development gold, but that tiny little block with the budget rentals (if it's still there?) puts a dampener on the site. Amalgamation is an obvious goal for that area but you can bet the owner of that tiny land will extract a premium for it.

From certain angles it reminds me of the Pearl River Tower Goungzhou China. This building over comes wind resistance by redirecting air through slits in the building which use the air flow to generate electricity.

With Realm being a block away, this area could build up quite the skyline. With a big city grid, we could have multiple highrise areas. I like the height of this one, it fills the gap between the 115 metre Sofitel/ Echelon, and Realm/ Frome/ Westpac.

I’m so glad I was wrong with this.
It looks fantastic, dare I say it looks better than the Adelaidean. I love how the design works great and with the Adelaidean. It’s consistent.

Some buildings look better in renders than real-life... but I think this one will look better in reality compared to the render (viewed from proper perspective in relation to its actual surroundings). It's crazy how big this corner of the CBD will look in a few years.

There's concern by at least one Uni about oversupply in a potentially declining market. About 2000 new beds on the market in the next two years.

Will probably be even taller than this mock-up but I was in a rush!Nort wrote:Assuming that the pillars are concrete that looks very much like an older Surfers Paradise/Brisbane building. Should be some interesting variety in the area.
