I know a lot of effort goes into designing these types of buildings and also there's budgets to adhere to but you can't help but wonder why they couldn't have whacked on another meter or so just to be on the safe side in terms of Adelaide's tallest - even if just temporarily lol

Probably because while it's nice to have in marketing it wouldn't actually translate to any major boost in sales. The majority of tenants won't care if the top of the building is a few inches higher or lower than other buildings in Adelaide.

They are not mucking around here. The assembly on this crane is already well underway this morning. At this rate it should be well and truly complete by this evening.

Yes there were two Favco cranes there, back in the day. What a great event to see Adelaide's tallest building for 30 years really starting to grow, with another taller one to follow. Adelaide is feeling so much more exciting these past couple of years after the desolation from the State Bank - still a long way to go for Adelaide to catch up to the expansion and progress of the other capitals, but at least there are signs of growth and investment.
