Must be a mobile crane in Andy's photos then.

You can just see the support leg of a mobile crane (with red & white stripes) next to the stacks of timber on the far left hand side of Andy's picture.

Thanks for the pics, Very odd they are paying fees weekly for a tower crane since March they are not using... Something seems amiss with that.

Or else maybe the actual costs are related to the movable top pieces, but yes, odd, especially as they've had a mobile crane on-site almost daily recently, so not like it wouldn't be used.

Some possible thoughts about the incomplete crane:
1 they are concentrating on getting the footings completed, but then a working crane would be useful.
2 they do need some clear space in the street or side lane to first assemble the mobile crane then the actual tower crane.
3 the crane they want is still being used interstate.
4 they are waiting to reuse the tower crane from next door.
5 I think one is only charged for a complete certified working crane unless tower sections are in short supply.

These are just my thoughts.

I think the most relevant fact is the developer (Samaras) owns the cranes so it sitting there is likely costing him nothing....

Looking at the slapper student block in the background in those pics. Is it being painted? Large areas seem far more consistent in tone than before.

I don't think so, but the whole building was washed down with a high pressure water jet a couple of weeks back.

Dwells crane will be moved here later in the week. Must just be the cabin and boom. Surprisingly not a hammerhead.
