Poking out over Bohem appartments when viewing from Harbour Town. Two bleak grey blocks making our already beige skyline look... beige.

Sigh

Every city looks grey in the distance especially on a grey day

Sorry but today was quite clear. Other colours in the skyline were clearly visible. However the beige finish of Bohem and the grey very present blank wall looked very drab, by comparison.

Then move a little further away

Why move away when I can expect more from my city? I’m a proud Adelaidian that wants to see a striking, inspired skyline. Just because we have not had much in the way of change does not mean we should not expect a development to make a positive impact on our skyline.

Sorry, but your response was quite juvenile.

No I meant move further away from the city to view it from that perspective

The airport is west of Kodo. The western side is grey concrete.

Can confirm it will look grey from the airport.

Lol any further and I’ll be at West Beach. My point is that compared to other visiting within the skyline, the big blank wall is already drab and prominent. Had the western wall had some type of facade it really could have positively impacted the western skyline.

On a hunch, I loaded up google earth and ran a straight line between Harbour Town and Kodo. Just as I thought. Bohem Apartments is smack band in the middle of the line of sight. Also, the U/C Market St apartments and proposed Coglin St apartments. You'd literally have to drive around the Harbour Town car park finding a line of sight to Kodo.

So too from almost the entire airport terminal, Bohem is in the line of sight, and the already propose/u/c developments mentioned will also.

Notwithstanding the question why you would optimise the skyline view from the Harbour Town car park rather than North Adelaide, Mt Lofty, Skye, et al, you'd have to be pretty firmly searching for negatives to complain about the view from Harbour Town.

I'm trying to highlight that the development should have been elevated to not have such a prominent blank wall. Google view all you want but try looking at it from this angle. With Bohem in front of it, it only further enhances the bland quality of these designs.

That is all I was trying to outline.

Ta.

Apparently the site has been shutdown today. Anyone have any information?
