Noticed they were testing one of the display screens heading into the trench this morning just past Pym St. This is in addition to many of the speed limit signs flashing at 10 km/h for the workmen.

Looks like they're making good progress surfacing the road too. Reckon we're still good for a September opening?

Photo of the Sutton Road bridge at Darlington which was posted on the DPTI Facebook page. It shows the excavation of the trench. Still a long way to go.

What are they doing with the dirt they dig out of the trench? Is it getting taken all the way to the Northern Connector, or is there somewhere closer to take it?

Good progress has been made with T2T the past week or so.

Firstly, the widening of Taylors Bridge (the one over the Torrens) looks to be almost complete.

Throughout the rest of the project, finishing touches for concrete components are being done (e.g. the concrete on the South Road surface acting as a buffer between traffic and the wall of the trench). Lighting has been installed, along with traffic management cameras.

I dare say we could expect it to be traffic ready in about a month.

It took a nearly a year longer than expected, but the newly widened side of Taylor Bridge was open to traffic tonight. However the eastern side is now closed (for resurfacing? so probably not for long). When I drove past there seemed to be excavation & leveling work going on over the weekend at the northern end of the T2T - that part still looks more than a month away from finishing to me?

Excavation is a pretty quick process, but what takes longer is the service relocation. Most of this is done at the northern end, so it's a matter of tidying it up and finishing it off. Then in comes the final layer of asphalt in September, followed by landscaping and other urban treatments by the end of the year.

The July construction update has been posted on the DPTI website for the Darlington Upgrade...

Website:

Direct link to the update:

Some pretty good information about how the bridges are being constructed and the upcoming traffic diversions. Would've been awesome if they had some dates for these milestones though.

The next traffic switch letter was sent out by email yesterday, but I haven't seen it on the website yet.

The weekend of July 28 will see traffic over the first expressway bridge

The Northbound onramp over the current expressway main entry (opposite McDonalds) is really taking shape.

Also anyone know what this building will be used for? Situated between FMC - McDonalds on that side. Image

Looking north (towards Pym St) from Torrens Rd over pass. Roadway has no bitumen at this time and side walls are not clad yet.
