Caffe Bongiorno's external awning frame has been taken down.

Noticed they've just posted this this morning, on youtube and facebook page.

Says they've past the half way point - am surprised how much has been done in 6 months

The plaza doesn't look that exciting , also it could be noisy with a major road nearby

Speaking of the former Dick Smith on the corner of Reservoir Rd/North East Rd according to McGees, it is soon going to be redeveloped into a new Beacon Lighting outlet after (Devil Forbid!) sitting vacant and collecting dust for SIX YEARS!

I wonder what impact this will have on the already dead space that is Tea Tree Plus, along with any expansion plans.

More than 700 employees of Toys 'R' Us Australia will lose their jobs after administrators decided to wind-up the retailer and close all 44 Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us stores.

Demolition of the former Dick Smith/Brashs building just started a few days ago.

Toy r us original TT+ store before it was reduced in size was maybe 3,500sqm. It has been about 2,500sqm for a while. I assume behind the wall is empty or storage?
Kaufland want 6,500sqm.
The Toys R Us store even in its original size is nowhere near big enough.

Possibly big enough for David Jones though, especially now that department stores are generally showing a preference for smaller stores than in the past.

Having been a manager with DJs I know for sure they have long wanted space at TTP.

However they would require that space to be better integrated with the rest of the centre, and the mall around it to be better presented. Could easily happen though as I'm sure Westfield would rather spend a bit to get DJs in there than have it vacant.

The site would also be suitable for South Australia's first TK Maxx store

Harvey Norman Big Buys would be better.

I was absolutely correct that the old 1990s TRU signage gave us a good hint that closure was inevitable.

An update on the restaurants opening up in the new cafe precinct.

A little disappointed Westfield didn't take this opportunity to evict Caffe Primo. I can't see them being a good fit for the area.

Are you kidding? North-eastern suburbs are a completely mixed bag of demographics.

That they are, but Westfield are going to be putting in high quality cafes/restaurants in this precinct - Primo will be very out of place in this precinct if the fly through is anything to go by.
