Haven't seen anything since the announcement. Flick DPTI an email.Archer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 5:10 pmThere is also supposed to be a duplication of South Road from Seaford to Sellicks Beach with construction to start in 2019. While obviously not on the scale of the rest of the North south Corridor works, it's still a significant project with $305M allocated for stage one (Seaford to Aldinga Beach Road). The project page on the DPTI website is pretty sparse with just the project overview and benefits information. Does anyone have or know any more details about this project yet? When would we be likely to start seeing more information, given construction is supposed to start in 2019 (although probably late 2019 given it's September already)?

A friend who works for Altus snapped these last night. It's of the Ayliffes Road bridge.

Line marking is being done on the northern carriageway of T2T.
Also more of the signage has gone up.
Getting even more closer to opening

Can we just get a little time without roadworks on that area of the N/S corridor? Geez it’s like a never ending parade if hi-viz and reduced speeds1NEEDS2POST wrote:Since this will finish ahead of schedule, when will work start on the Pym Street to Regency Road section?

Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

The counter view is to say let's get it all finished so we can drive smoothly from the Northern Expressway to the Torrens. Those remaining three sets of traffic lights in a 60 zone are going to look like a significant bottleneck with a lot of complaints once you can reach them on smooth uninterrupted motorway from both directions.Kasey771 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 9:09 amCan we just get a little time without roadworks on that area of the N/S corridor? I would prefer to have 2019 as a nightmare of regency/pym roadworks and northern connector roadworks if it meant i had an uninterrupted run from 2020 onwards

And think, Norman's time frame is probably an at the earliest..claybro wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 2:12 pmThey've known about this section for how long already?Norman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 8:53 pmNot for at least another year. It'll probably be mid to late 2020 before major work starts.
Hopefully we are both wrong of course.
You would think though, that the remaining property(houses) wouldn't have much value, given they are either side and smack bang in the middle of a major freeway/motorway now.

It'll be around 2021/22, maybe 2023/24 when there is an uninterrupted run from the Northern Expressway to the Torrens.aaronjameslange wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 10:40 am+1SBD wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 10:12 amThe counter view is to say let's get it all finished so we can drive smoothly from the Northern Expressway to the Torrens. The property valuations aren't based strictly on the exact location when it comes to compulsory acquisition. They usually take into account things like relocation costs, and some formula relating to the average property price of the relevant suburb. It is in order to make if fair for someone who would like to live in the same area, but would not normally afford a house back off the main road, which no longer exists. Not sure exactly how it is calculated but it was discussed way back when the first lot of houses went in the Hindmarsh and Croydon sections.rev wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 10:46 amAnd think, Norman's time frame is probably an at the earliest..claybro wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 2:12 pmThey've known about this section for how long already?Norman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 8:53 pm

Nah they do seem to be on the small side, but then so are the Superway signs, so at least they look consistently small.

T2T community celebration on Sun Aug 23.

Opening will presumably occur shortly after and will be staged according to the Sept construction update.
