Seeing that glazing put in makes me look at the Myer Centre next door and wonder what, if anything, could be done to make it look less dated.
I'm sure it could - steel framed buildings are generally pretty easy to modify aesthetically. Who own the building? Myer? If so they might not be in a particular position to be splashing cash on exterior upgrades...

Looks like there's a big neon H&M ♥ Adelaide sign on the wall opposite the food court in RMP:

Max Brenner has gone into voluntary administration although the stores will be 'business as usual' for the time being. I imagine it's 50/50 on Rundle St staying open, as it's their only SA store but anecdotally seems to be mostly empty.

So they knock Cocolat out of the market and now they're stuffed themselves? Max Brenner's biggest issue is they have a habit of opening nearby their far superior competitors (i.e. San Churros).

I don't think you can really blame Max Brenner for Cocolat closing. My regular coffee haunt during uni is around the corner and it seemed to get emptier and emptier for a long time. And it hadn't really done a lot to keep up with the times either - "cool" restaurants all seem to have a specific look now (dark tiles, colourful slightly rusty stools, those light bulbs that don't actually emit any light) and it looked very dated. Of course you can get away with that if you've got a top notch product (see: the numerous Italian restaurants around the CBD that apart from having paywave now are exactly as they were in 1983) but if there's a nicer place to be serving the same food but better across the road and 5 places that do better coffee within 100 meters? Nah.

I've heard that Cocolat in Rundle Street was already going downhill before Max Brenner opened. Maybe Brenner saw a gap opening up and sought to fill it, rather than pushing Cocolat out of the way?

The IGA on north terrace has closed down. It has probably struggled recently due to RAH moving.

What, where they offering deals to get your appendix removed if you spend $100 or more in store?
There's a tonne of residents on their door step in the east end..

I think it was more of a case that it COST people an appendix to pay for anything there.

Mate, how else do you explain the closure ?
ORah must have brought in at least 1000 people into the area every day.

It wasn't an IGA anymore. There were some new Chinese owners, who dropped the association with IGA. It was never a good supermarket before, but it just got worse and worse — shelves were constantly understocked and staff were rarely at the checkout.

I work very close to it, and I wouldn't even buy milk from there — instead picking up whenever I went down to the Mall.

It's been confirmed that the Adelaide Max Brenner will be closing (along with 19 other stores — completely pulling out of SA, WA and NT)

I am sure it won't be long before it gets converted into a late night massage parlour.
