Is the voice announcer the same guy from the planes announcements. Also I don't see why we got to be told what side of the tram to get off, we got by fine for over a century

It's common practice in metro systems all over the world now. Adelaide is just following the trend.

Yep - Melbourne's and Gold Coast's trams announce this, as do the Brisbane's suburban trains (only difference for Brisbane trains is that the guard makes the announcement).

What was the point of building that extension if they can't even open it for events at Elder Park?. I thought that was the reasoning behind this extension.

Federation Square in Melbourne is busy everyday , the nearby tramstop has many crowds and its fine. More like the government making excuse to save money.

Some food carts were placed on King William Road. It's reasonable since the road is closed to all traffic except for buses.

It might be that. It could also be that SA really has very low expertise in tram operations. This is not to reflect poorly on staff who obviously try hard, but is merely the result of having a system that's too small to build up expertise in what is a complicated area, but a really small part of Adelaide Metro.

There are so many signs of this around, and this is just another. IF this was Melbourne, we'd have the size of tramway to enable employment of staff who can understand and handle all of the problems that seem to stump people here.

It's also an argument for a larger system that could justify having the expertise here. At the moment, we really have people who are good at operating a standard single line. However, when it comes to special operations, tram extensions, major maintenance, they neither know what to do, nor who to ask.

I emphasise that I don't mean that as a criticism. Asking operations people to do these things is like asking a good car driver to build a car. Just because someone can drive a car, and even drive it well, it doesn't mean they can do major maintenance, nor build a new car from scratch. That's what Adelaide Metro gets tasked with, and if the truth is told, are probably doing better than most for having been thrown in the deep end.
