No application has ever been lodged, so its not for this.

there are plans for an existing building, roughly opposite McHenry St, to be turned into a boutique hotel. Think it is limited to level 1 and basement refurbishment.wilkiebarkid wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:03 pmBUILT has advertised for tenders for a GAWLER PLACE HOTEL.

...and.
"A Gawler Place Hotel"...very sly! It did seem too ambitious tendering for a hotel to be completed in 2021! Thanks Ben and obituary resider.obituary resider wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:57 pmthere are plans for an existing building, roughly opposite McHenry St, to be turned into a boutique hotel. DA is being lodged today. We will finally know the details.
[CAN] Re: 51 Pirie Street | 153m | 40lvls | Hotel
Looking forward to the grand unveiling of a 15 meter/4 levels design.
[CAN] Re: 51 Pirie Street | 153m | 40lvls | Hotel
Seriously hope it’s a 150m+ tower ... perfect location for a new tallest as it will appear in the middle of the CBD skyline from most angles.
Fingers and toes are crossed ....

Hey Ben, where exactly would have these been posted? Can't find them on the DAC website...

Not saying this is the final design, but:

This works so well from a street level point of view

That’s the first proposal prior to the hotel.Algernon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 11:52 pmNot saying this is the final design, but:

The DAC site is usually updated within a few days of lodgement. I wouldn’t expect it to be there yet. It is government after all.

SCAP website says 28 storeys, which probably puts it at 100-110m.
Good height, but not a new tallest. I'd say the design is more important. It's still tall enough to be prominent and the CBD is large enough that we aren't pressed for space yet.
That said, it would be nice to see something noticeably bigger than Westpac proposed. What happened to "the vision formerly known as DOMINATOR 1"?
